Princess auto detergents

I’m from Canada and everyone already knows we can’t get the good stuff that those in the States get. I’m trying to stay away from the dishwashing and laundry detergents and find a more professional choice for a surfactant.

Princess auto( Canadian Harbour Freight) has 3 detergents specific to pressure washing:

General purpose: https://www.princessauto.com/en/detail/general-purpose-pressure-washer-detergent/A-p8581852e

Industrial: https://www.princessauto.com/en/detail/industrial-pressure-washer-detergent/A-p8582124e

As well as a phosphate free one. I’m all for testing them with regards to cleaning power, scent etc. I just want to make sure these are safe to use with bleach before I go gas the neighborhood. The links have the sds sheets in one of the drop down boxes.

They are all degreasers. Don’t use them as surfactants

Well that sucks. Has anyone found anything in Canada that’s a good choice yet? I priced out some stuff from the states but it’s works out to about $170 for a fiver.

Get the fiver. It’ll last you a long time and you’ll pay it off in one job.

I wish I lived closer to the border and I could drive it across. A bit of a trip for me. Might still be worth it though depending I guess.

Some sites will ship to Canada. Do some searching and see what works out for you price wise.

What have you found to be the most value surfactant to go with here in Canada. Fresh wash is about 230 shipped and apple wash is around 320 shipped. No elemonator since pressure tsk doesn’t ship up here.

Not looking for cheapest but balance of quality and cost.

Try calling Southside equipment and get a quote on a fiver of roofsnot delivered to your address. You’ll use less per gallon than fresh wash or elemonator so it’ll last you longer and I believe it’s $79 US for a fiver. There website doesn’t give you accurate delivery charges that’s why I say give them a call.

Thanks for the tip. I priced some things out there before and instantly emptied my cart when I calculated shipping. I have an email out to hotsy to see if they have anything that they would recommend. They have a cleaner blue thunder that they seem to recommend for a lot of applications but it seems to be a degreaser

Yeah I wouldn’t bother, I’ve done a ton of searching and wasn’t able to find anything worth buying. I’m not a fan of how there shipping works on there website but if you call you might be able to get a accurate price.

(This ^) I’ve received this same advice from @anon37135677. It’s great advice assuming you can sort out the shipping or pick up of the 5 gallon.

Yea I agree. I’ve made up my mind and I’ll just order from the states. Cost of doing business up here I guess. If I can get 80 or so hw out of a fiver it will more than pay for itself. Now to decide whether to get something for both hw and roofs or different for each task. I’m not doing roofs yet until I can afford a 12v set up so probably just a hw surfactant for now

This may not be helpful, but I ordered a fiver of Elemonator while I was on vacation in Florida. They ship super fast, and then I just brought it back with me to Canada. I expect it to last me the full season, I only do pressure washing 1 day a week. I will probably just do this again next year.
If you are planning a trip to the States, maybe you can line it up?

I’m out in Ontario. A little far of a drive. I’ll eat with the shipping for now. Once I get more business coming in maybe I’ll make trips across the border and bring back more

Do you typically get customs charges from them?

Yeah possibly. I’ve only shipped here and dealt with that once through a store that didn’t mention it and I shouldn’t have ordered from in the first place (powerwash dot com). I order my stuff to the US
