Price list

Hi , I’m new to the biz I’m located out of Springfield il , I just got called by a farmer who has 30 tractors and trailers , wants them washed and rinsed, just soap and water on the rims," no chem" . I dont really know what I should bid, I own a hood cleaning company but branching out my services to other venues, all I hot is a 4500 psi water canon, with hot, and two helpers got duel lines, just dont know really what I should bid, I know I’m a newb, but need some solid realistic advice, I know these trucks are dirty from hauling corn and in the fields , trying to figure out how to make the best of this opportunity , and not sell short. Any good advice would be a blessing.

They don’t like to talk prices here, you are likely going to make someone’s meme day. I am not a PW guy.

How much would you charge for your time to scrub and spray a single tractor? Multiply that times 30

If you’ve got a few hours to kill, here is the fleetwashing thread to read. I think some prices have been mentioned here and there. You’ll have to do some sifting.

Ask the farmer if you can wash one for free before giving an estimate. You’ll then know how long it will take you to do all 30 and you can multiply by your hourly rate. You can even squeeze that first one into the estimate that you did for “free”. Farmers are so tight if you mention doing one for free he’ll be more than happy to let you…lol Nobody can tell you how long they’ll take without seeing some pictures.

Ok that sounds pretty fair to me, and i understand that people dont feel comfortable talking about prices on the forum , I was caught out of left field on this bud as I have been a hood cleaner for 28 years and never really thought about branching out till I got the call, and thought about the profitability of it. Thank you for your response, much appreciated and By the way have a Merry Christmas, and a profitable New Years…

Get some pics and sizes @Bigfootpressurewash. And how often they want them washed.Do they want the motor bay washed ?The first time will always take the longest on the entire project. all these answers will affect your price and make you profitable or not. Don’t go in flying blind. Remember, No pics ,no proof.

Call your local Blue Beacon as I see two very near you. Get their prices on the same equipment and discount it about 20% on a bi-weekly schedule. If he wants a monthly service discount it only 10%. I hope you can wash them at night to keep your same schedule, he has water at their location and you can find some decent truck soap and can figure out how to upstream it. After that you’ll be golden, good luck!
