Thank you Nick. Are you in Florida?
Nope, Indiana. From what I gather florida has a pressure washing company on every corner, so prices are lower
As a numbers guy, I’m with Nick all the way. You know your costs, and desired (within reason) level of profitability/markup better than anyone else does. Pricing needs to always be based on costs, not the market. If you price based on the market, you may be comparing to uninsured, unbonded, paying under the table guys, and in reality they are not offering the same “product” that you are. Then you’re stuck with losing on every job, and you can’t make up for that in volume… If the market requires unscrupulous business practices, or unprofitable pricing, then the industry isn’t a viable one.
I agree and thank you for the help. I won’t be up and running until probably the beginning or middle of October trying to put together a rig now on a trailer but motors and tanks are on backorder. When I get going I will have to try to add everything up down to a weekly amount and go by that.
In a competitive market, well-designed advertising and excellent customer service make a big difference as to who gets the work.
