Preventing pump overheating

I have a Simpson Water Blaster with a 4200psi, 4gpm Comet pump. The unloader valve is built into the pump head. I sometimes loan the pressure washer out to others but I can’t seem to get across the importance of not leaving the pump running for any length of time while the gun is off. I would like for the unloader valve to vent water to the ground. Since I can’t do this with my current unloader valve is there any reason I can’t add a second unloader valve just downstream of my current unloader valve and let it vent to the ground?

Won’t work

Details? The original unloader valve could be adjusted to a higher activation pressure than the new one downstream.

Don’t loan machine out.

Airborne do what you feel you need to. I’m just cutting out the headache by telling you that it won’t work
