Preventing bleach poisoning

Could someone please help link me to home depot or walmart products that I can use to prevent damage to my lungs. I found some masks, but I don’t think they are cutting it.

What I think you’re saying is that I should stop “loading” the bleach siphon hose by mouth before connecting it to the injector barb…

No, keep doing that, it keeps your mouth fresh and clean.

Ive seen several guys recommend and use these, i ordered them, and they work great.

I read somewhere that a very important factor in safety equipment is that it is comfortable to wear, because the more comfortable something is, the better chance you will wear it. This mask is super comfortable, and my safety glasses dont fog up. It has a quick release where you can pop the front of it down to talk, or while rinsing with water, and then easily pop it back up when you need without having to take it off.

The little white ones, i dont find very comfortable, and my glasses usually fog up. I havent tried the nicer ones like Steve linked, but i imagine i would still prefer the fit of the one i am using.

how often do you swap out the filters?

Full face mask ??? When do you guys wear those… dont tell me doing house washes

I dont know, because i have only had it a short time. I dont even know how you can tell if they need to be replaced… i think i read that if you start smelling bleach it’s time to replace, but im not sure… might be a time thing. Will have to look it up.

I wear it when I think I need to. If I’m atomozing a 40% mix or air transferring. Do I house wash with it no I have a half mask for that. I don’t need my eyes burned or my only set of lungs to struggle when I’m getting it on with my hot young wife

What do you guys wear as far as clothing? Ive been using full body plastic suits from home depot but theyre ridiculously hot and don’t last more than a couple jobs

All our shirts are white dri-fit/moisture wicking fabric with the dye sublimated into the fabric. They get washed with bleach and never fade.

All my jeans and hats are spotted though. I keep a pair of clean jeans, shirt, and a hat in the truck if I have to do an estimate after working.

I tried a rain suit for a little while, but was sweating so much I had headaches and woke up all night with cramps. Just not worth it. Ha!

Search for “clothing”, “protection”, “resistant”, “long sleeve”, and you will find a lot of information on this subject.

As far as safety goes, it seems that most people aren’t that concerned about washing in shorts and t shirts, and even open shoes. So far I haven’t found any information that definitively says if there is a health risk, and how big it is, as far as bleach getting on your skin.

Glad I searched and found your other post! Just changed the order from the 60926 filters as they were the wrong ones. Love this place.

That’s old technology now lol nah jk

Get some ear plugs aswel

Huh? What?

How long do the filters last you?

Every hole should be plugged for safety
