Hi,
A couple days back I got a Powerstroke power washer off Craigslist with a Subaru engine. The owner only said that it won’t start. I charged the battery, but after some cranking it would just stop after about 5 seconds with some metal rattling noise. I tried that about a dozen times, but after that the engine won’t crank at all! I took off the cord assembly and I can turn the flywheel back and forth about 1.5 turns, after that there’s a hard stop. I took out the spark plug, nothing came out. There was almost no gap, so I adjusted it. Other than that, the machine is almost new… I’d really like ti get it going, any ideas what I could try?
Hey awesome
@Pefferie Maybe the owner was right
Frankly I would be looking for a small engine mechanic. The other option would be pulling the head off or otherwise accessing the crankcase to see what’s going on. Wild ass guess? Broken camshaft?
Dig into it. Idk how mechanically inclined you are but if you bought it not running I don’t imagine you paid too much for it. Start taking things apart and maybe learn something. Use alot of sandwich baggies for bolts and what not. Label them with where they go and take lots of pictures. Worse comes to worse throw a new motor on and call er’ good.
Are you squeezing the trigger while you’re trying to start it?
I read this in my mind using the voice… mmmhmmmm
Nope. They have to see that you bought the item from them on your purchase history or no go.
Probably not the best on the motor, but does a little starter fluid get it going?
