Howdy. From what I’ve been readingon this forum, this machine is looking like a good deal to me. What do you guys think? It’s 5@3k with a general pump. I’ve heard mixed things about pwp on this forum. I just wanted to make sure I’m not missing anything in the fine print or about to make a decision I’ll regret…
I’m doing windows from my truck that’s covered with a shell. For the time being I’m aiming to use the machine weekly not daily. Does anyone foresee any major problems if i run the machine on my tailgate connected to a 35gal buffer in the back of the bed? I was worried about too much heat and not enough ventilation. I could leave the side windows open I guess. Any thoughts? Anything else I should be worried about?
Thanks in advance, I appreciate all you guys taking time out to reply
Eventually the goal is to get a van. If possible, i’m trying to make the truck work for now. This small garage is all the space i have to park equipment, I can’t do a trailer at the moment. I can make room in here to house a small buffer tank and to load a pw and reel when I need it. I really don’t want to load and unload the pw on the job though, hoping i can run it from in the bed if that’s safe.
I’ve been doing research on which machine would be best for my situation, but i would like to make this purchase before the end of the year so I appreciate your input. Just want to make sure I’m not buying a piece of junk
@treacherousbogart you could consider a bed slide. That’ll make it easier to access things further up in the bed. I’ve never owned one so I can’t say from experience as to how well they work but it might be worth looking in to.
For 5gpm, you really need a buffer tank. Also, I noticed this in the description:
“NOT MEANT TO BE CHANGED INTO A SKID UNIT AS THE SKID MAY CRACK”
That doesn’t really inspire confidence. And a lot of people will tell you to go with a steel frame, as aluminum will eventually crack due to the prolonged vibrations.
I would find a skid mounted unit with similar specs (3000 psi @ 5gpm is a bit optimistic, though, with that motor). I have a 5.5@2500 pressure pro and have been quite happy with it. But I do practically zero flatwork, so take my advice with that in mind
