Pressure Washer Hose Adapter Leaking

Hi, i am new to this so sorry for my lack of understanding. I have only used my pressure washer 3 times and before i take it back to the store as it is some distance away i just wanted to check it isn’t something i am doing wrong with the setup.

The garden hose adapter that is attached to the pressure washer(picture below) seems to have a spring-loaded valve on it and even when the pressure washer is switched on and running it is leaking quite bad. However, i’m not sure how to remove it to see if there is an O-ring that may be damaged, it is also plastic and was wondering if it is possible to replace it for a metal fitting instead.

The pressure washer seems to be losing pressure every 10-20 seconds and then kicks back to full pressure, i have checked the air filter and it is fine as it is a brand new machine almost. Also i havn’t left the pressure washer itself running for long periods of time(more than 60 seconds) without using the gun. The garden hose adapter has a spring behind it, and a valve that opens up(when there is too much garden hose pressure?) however this seems to be the part that is failing. Also the water that comes through the machine seems to be luke-warm, is this because air may be getting in through the adapter?

Take the plastic coupler plug out of the garden hose fitting and see if the washer is okay. Might want to just eliminate the whole hose coupler and just screw your hose right on to the machine.

Is it the quick connect coupler that’s leaking or the pressure relief valve?

Hose gasket?

Hose fittings gasket, I should have said.

Dont use the machine until the leak is fixed, if you do you will end up with a bad unloader. Replace the rubber gasket on the female end of the coupler or as I would do, do away with the plastic coupler.
