No problem! Google “scrap metal near me” and see if you have a scrapyard anywhere close. My skid is 9/16" steel (overkill) that I got for $5. Brushed it to bare metal and rust-proofed it
You’ll find a lot of different opinions on here about dampener pads. These are the ones I used and I’m very happy with them. I torqued the plate down until the blue middle line was about an eighth of an inch thick. Don’t skip the threadlocker!
