I have been running DI only for the last 10 years but was just wanting to know if using a sediment and carbon filter before the DI would be worth doing.
I use about $400 of resin or 2 x 25 kg bags per season.
Just moving from a mobile set up to a van mount and looking to simplify and extend as much as I can.
I use a carbon filter on my intake. It’s supposed to reduce chlorine which degrades resin faster. I haven’t measured it but it seems that the tanks are lasting longer.

Hey Bill in order I run: 5 micron filter, charcoal cannister, anti scaling device, RO membrane,
DI membrane. This is simply overkill in an area were most water I run across is under 100
ppm when tested with tds meter. Thad is absolutely correct were the charcoal cannister
filters out chlorine.Chlorine hard on DI resin, fatal for RO membranes. All the best.
