We need some feedback on what are the best recommendations of PPE for fall protection when roof cleaning. We have looked into the roof pole anchor with harness, lanyards, rope and guide rope also several other options but want to narrow it down to what our best options are and what guys are waring in the industry…Thank you!!

We use the roof pipe anchors or tie off to trees, rope, full fall harness with lanyard. We just got some Korkers Tufftrax with the foam for a metal roof we were doing, and I absolutely loved them. It was 6/12 pitch, wet, soapy and dirty, and we didn’t slip at all. The foam might only last one job however. I ordered the rubber ones for gutter cleaning asphalt roofs this year. Shoes don’t really count as PPE as they are no substitute for safety ropes, but I think they will greatly reduce the risk of falling in the first place.
