I’m aware of the challenges of running the business itself. I prefer it actually. Some of the behind the scenes work can be done in the comfort of my own home, music, spending time with girlfriend. And having accounting experience as well, I could do well.
Who does the insurance and what does it typically cost?
@Kps0410 sounds like you have a solid business plan. Having a business plan and being financially secure are my main worries. Sure, I can get jobs. But will I get enough work. Enough to justify dishing out several thousand on a unit and pay bills. I am competent, but I dont have much faith in taking the leap. The more I research and read, the better I feel.
I have my insurance through shelter which is who I have all my policies with. talk to who ever your agent is
Joseph Walters. 1500/year
Mine is roughly 1600 a year for 5mil
Would you please quit posting until you have intelligent advice to give

I can’t remember if you said you plan on quitting nursing right away and jumping right into pressure washing but, remember, it’s going to be seasonal in your area. You’re talking 4 months or so of no work. Sure, you might be able to drum up some business in the winter but it’s going to slow down big time. There are other options that some do like hang Christmas lights or snow removal. I’m not just talking commercial plow work but also a handful of residential driveways using a snow blower and shovel. I believe it’s @Infinity that does quite well with it.
Obviously I don’t know your situation but I would recommend doing it on the side for the first year so you still have your nursing income during the winter months. Heck, even if you were able to do nursing part time during the washing season and full time in the winter. It would give you a chance to build a customer base. Plus, that’s just more money you’ll have to throw towards marketing or invest into your business.
You’ll definitely see what @Harold is talking about with not having any extra time. I’m sure it’ll be easier after so many years but is extremely time consuming at first when trying to build a successful business. Heck, I’m sure it can be just as time consuming down the road depending on the business model. I always make time for my family but it’s insane how much time I devote to my business everyday. It’s nothing to work 12-16 hour days and then come home to do estimates. I’m determined to keep a full schedule and be successful though. I just say this so you and your girlfriend know what to expect. It’s not like you’ll be sitting on the couch sipping a cool beverage beverage with her while doing business stuff. You’ll have your face buried in your laptop, yellow notepads, and gallery on your phone instead of watching a movie with her. I get what you’re saying though. You could definitely get her involved and to help. Estimating software definitely helps so be sure to look into something like Markate or The Customer Factor. Just prepare her for it but also be sure to make time for her. Have a set date night and give her some time on Sunday. Even that will be hard to do during busy times.

We can all find humor in your posts, and hopefully you will figure out what you are doing. In the meantime, do not make another post about “mental retarded” or you will be forced to find another forum to troll on. Carry on. We are adults here. Be an adult or leave. @Chris @Infinity @squidskc
You could be an adult to and not attempt to censor my post. They have been productive and I have taken all the advice I was given. If you don’t like it then please feel free to censor yourself. You don’t need to reply to everything I say.
I’m flagging the stupid advice you gave so new guys aren’t misled by it and your calling people mental retarded. Go look at your other post. They are still there. Behave and your posts stay.
Maybe you should learn how to behave. I have read so much posts where you were just flat out rude to people. This forum is full of your comments that don’t even align with the content of the post and you derailing threads.
@anon29736956 seriously, why are you still on this forum?? As determined last night, most of us believe you are a troll.
You lost any support from me when you started telling people they were mentally retarded. You can disagree, post your comments and replies all day long, but that was a less than classy move.
There’s a private Facebook group that this kind of malarkey happens 23 hours a day. Feel free to check it out. If you’d like to stay here and post your content publicly that’s awesome. But be prepared for people to debate with you about it.
Refrain from anything derogatory.
@Grizz I am now the thread derailer lol

I am okay with debating or discussing ideas. However you have a guy who is censoring on topic replies. You guys are insulting me calling me a troll. That is acceptable? You are not even following your own rules on this forum.
We aren’t insulting you. Some of us just genuinely believe you are a troll judging by things you have been posting.

You just told me to leave an I am not welcome here, yet you hold no authority to this website.
Just ignore him all he wants to do is get a rise out of someone. To honest if a new guy get on this site and doesn’t read like he should and does something as dumb as take @anon29736956 advice then so be it.
