I know we have a wide range in Age wise of Power washers. My question is do you guys stay on top of your regular check ups. Reason I ask. Some of us can do 1 or 2 houses a day. Some younger guys can do 3 or 4 jobs a day during busy season… Do you guys get tired? or pretty stablized till the end of the day.
Im in my lower 50s & when i started I could do 2 a day… be tired at the end but could do it… Now Ive spaced my jobs out to 1 a day to give the body a break… any ways. A older customer got me to thinking. I’ve done older people homes. to where the old lady will come out & say. Son Take a break would you like something to eat or drink? no maam im trying to get it done. And sure enough I have the energy to complete it no problem. ( I guess most are use to doing it them selves to were it takes them all day… one fella say took him a weekend). Took me 4 hours I get it…equipment makes a difference. The other week I had a gentlemen tell me Son.(Im 53 he’s 61) “I will Pay You if you just tell me what it is you are taking for so much energy!” I said nothing sir. Now on to my check up at the Doctor; I do have bradycardia at rest but at work, have a high heart rate… which I thought was normal. I do know an athelete ( I use to jog but havent had time in 3 yrs). has a lower heart rate at rest…; What Im wondering is by me conditioning my heart the last 3+ years to pressure washing sometimes to all day jobs… Is it possible my heart rate at rest or when I’m sleep because of me pushing the limits pressure washing bring my resting rate so low? Getting ready for a colonoscopy but Dr. wont clear until we figure this out. Has any of you done check ups to check your heart & bloodwork and what not? I do have an irregular heart beat sometimes too. Just trying to compare with other workers that do the same types of job health conditions are… Once I’m on the job started, I like to finish… dont have chest pains, dizzy, shortness of breath very faintly or rarely but I can push through it to where it doesn’t affect my work. Plenty of energy, high metabolism… Im just trying to figure something out before the docs just keep trying to push meds, testing etc.$$$$ lol. but I will if I have to. If anything I think I need to get the proper amount of sleep which im not… I like to stay up at evening and play chess lololol. What are your findings for those of you that go?
I’m 54 now and frankly I go to the VA doctor(s) every month for something.
I’ve had four stents installed so far, nearly died a couple times, had a kidney removed, couple of hernia repairs, fun stuff.
I will say something controversial, my wife suddenly got tachycardia and afib out of nowhere after getting her second booster shot. Of course they’re just now admitting they can cause heart arrhythmias.
If you’ve had covid it could be long covid symptoms……it’s done a number on some…they are still figuring all what COVID has done. Some have had problems with the vaccines too….im not anti vaccines by any means….just a choice everyone has to make.
I get checked every year….bloodwork and all. In this line of work it pays to stay on top of your health and fitness. Hope they figure something out….
A check up - what’s that? On my equipment maybe!
In all seriousness, at the age of 36 I haven’t been to a real doctor in years (since high school days) on a routine basis. Not that I condone or suggest anyone live that way, I’ve just not gotten around to finding one. I slammed my finger in a car door about 17 years ago and went to a doc-in-a-box who relieved the pressure from under my fingernail. Then I went to an urgent care about two years ago after gaining my first experience with a kidney stone at 2:30 in the morning. Other than that, it’s just been a basic physical here or there for a new job. There was also a blood test done when the wife and I were testing for whatever top-tier life insurance package we signed up for. I’ve been fortunate so far and have lived an “active” lifestyle keeping me mostly outdoors in some way, shape or form, however, I know it’ll catch up to me eventually.
In the process of shutting down my house washing business now, but, I typically did 2-3 houses a day by myself as a part-timer. I did 4 a day a few times, and even 5 one day. But I liked to stop and talk with my clients, take photos, etc. I wasn’t all gung ho to just move on to the next one usually.
Yeah I saw that Brock on your stints in another post… Your one tough cookie bro… As for the wife… Now Im honestly believing that’s where my funny heartbeats started coming from I had 3 boosters & sometime between then that’s when I noticed it arrrggg. but who knows… I wouldn’t put that in Stone but I wouldnt rule it out either.
So Tuck your blood work always come back good? Yes covid changed the world that’s for sure my wife didn’t take any vaccines she didnt’ have any problems other than high blood psi… mines fine.
Pp your as healthy as a horse then I see yeah if you can do 3 a day without getting tired… Youre fine. I was just wondering on the heart beat thingy… I forgot about covid that could be the answer…
Before you step foot in a doctor’s office, how’s your diet? Do you sleep enough? How much water do you drink? Your diet and sleep make a MAJOR impact on your daily health.
Mid 30’s, I’ve always worked an active job, train for marathons, and my wife works in the medical field… I get biometrics every year for the healthcare discounts but that’s about it. Everything is always in the appropriate ranges. Resting hr is 48-52 depending on the day, but that has more to do with cardio then pressure washing. I also do intermittent fasting so usually only a cup of coffee in the morning and nothing else until lunch… in the summer I can feel when I haven’t stayed hydrated, but some electrolytes at lunch tend to fix those feelings.
All good there……I just like to at least once a year get bloodwork……do a colonoscopy too every couple years.
