Potentially Selling Business!

Well it’s been a good run but for many reasons I’m looking to get out of the business in the next 6 months. Mainly because the woman I moved here for isn’t in the picture anymore and I don’t want to settle down here. I bought a school bus I’m turning into an RV and am going to live and travel in that for a year or two.

As some of you know, I do fleet washing, and I think that gives the business value beyond what I can get for the truck and trailer. I won’t give exact figures but we wash for a handful of clients and just from fleet washing alone can generate a low six-figure revenue at a 25-35% expense rate depending on how judicious you are with your labor costs. I’m also going to be pursuing a few more clients once the new year starts to hopefully add more revenue and value to the business.

In addition we also have a growing reputation for residential and commercial work. I do no marketing and still get a few calls every week from my google page.

I think it would be a good opportunity for someone in the area (maybe Jackson or Memphis) looking to expand. With the right employee the fleet washing service could more or less run itself. Most of my interaction with my clients is just sending off invoices and collecting checks.

My lease at the house I’m renting expires in July of next year and I’ll be running the business until about June at which point if I have received no interest in the business as a whole then I’ll look to part with my truck and trailer set-up separately.

Until then, the offer stands. If anyone is remotely interested, just give me a shout and we can talk details.

That stinks, you worked so hard so far might as well stay in the area and enjoy it. Maybe hire a helper then sell it to him if you’re dead set on moving

I think if you post pics you might find more interested buyers

Best of luck man, hate to hear about your troubles. Best advice ive heard on the subject is to remember that a woman is never truly yours, it’s just your turn with her.

You have no idea how much I’ve wanted to outfit a van and travel, but with a little girl in the picture that’s going to have to wait a decade or so. Ive been living vicariously through #vanlife. Lots of great builds. From reasonable and low cost through to builds that would pay off mortgage. With a bus you could even have room for a small washing setup! Beat the hell out of washing dishes when you need to make some cash.

@Greenman I think deep down everybody has that vanlife itch. Truly the best way to travel and explore.

Gut out the back of the bus, build a wall and install your equipment in the back. Then make money wherever you go!

@Racer and @dperez I’ll definitely post some pictures one I make some more progress. Right now I just have the interior demolished. Trying in vain to find a machine shop that can press me some hat channel so I can raise the roof.

I’m definitely mounting an air compressor and a welder and bringing all my tools along so I can do odd jobs along the way or help other people with their conversions. I’ve considered mounting a little electric washer on the back and just offering small services to other RVs or at trailer parks at a low cost to make some cash but part of me never wants to wash again once I’m done haha.

Added pictures of truck and trailer to the original post.

Where are you traveling to on your maiden voyage @pressureguy ?

![image|230x500] Update. Will probably not be selling the business as a whole. Will be looking to sell truck and trailer together or separately around June.

As for the bus, I finally finished getting the roof raised up 14” and skinned with sheet all the way around. Moved the rear handicap door to midship. Now just have to seal it, paint it, and start working on the interior.

Wow, you’ve made a lot of progress on it. That’s quite a ambitious project my man. Who’s property are you on ripping this thing apart? I’m not planning on tearing any buses down but I’m planning on building a shop when we move that has room to pull apart three of them so I can be ready for anything that comes my way lol

Just the concrete pad behind the house I’m renting lol. Luckily for me it’s massive. Pretty much the only reason I chose to rent this house in the first place.

Sweet deal, you hit pay dirt when you found that rental!

Would you mind posting some details and a price for the truck?

I can’t wait to see the inside start to take shape. Nice job on the roof lift.
