Had a longtime customer call with a problem. An employee of his got some Porcelain Concrete on a new driveway while doing some work. Driveway is about a year old. Home owner already tried Washing it with a depot special. I’m not planning on moving forward with cleaning it as I’m not sure my solutions wont make it worse. I would like to give him an idea of something that might work.
Muratic was my first thought but I’m worried about discolored concrete. My guess is it would take it off but make it look worse overall. If the concrete was older I’d probably the it.
You could start off with a more diluted mix of muriatic, and if it doesn’t work bump it up.
I’m throwing darts here, so take it for what it is. You could scrub it with muratic, and if is doesn’t work out, well, there are spots on the driveway now. You could always rebrush the drive with a little portland, doesn’t last that long though.
Here is an old timer from PA that knows a thing or two about concrete and stone. This is him doing a drive. RESURFACE CONCRETE DRIVEWAY (Part 1)Mike Haduck - YouTube Part 2 is nothing more than brushing concrete. Enjoy the burgh accents.
You could talk to a mason as well. But if you grind and patch it will always look like a patch.
If you guys want to use wire (or nylon) brushes on things get this attachment for the sawzall (see picture). I use it in the sign business and it saves a ton of time as you can scrub incredibly fast!
I bet if scrubbed using my right hand I could keep up with the “Spyder”. Spending a lot of time overseas in an infantry unit will teach you skills like that.
That is a good idea. I bet you have to be careful on some surfaces though. I just picture the wire brush attachment throwing sparks and smoking…lol
We actually had a contest about the weirdest/ most dangerous place… winner was a guy in Charlie who managed to in the back of the brigade commanders Bradley… lol
