If a customer needs their large home washed in a remote area and their well barely gives any water, but they have an inground swimming pool, is it a good idea to use that pool water (if it’s clean) to wash the house instead of adding 500 or 700$ for a water truck to the quote? If i wfp the windows afterwards? Anyone tried this?
Assuming the pool is treated with chlorine, unless using a 12V, I wouldn’t run it through my pump.
As long as you put it back when you’re done with it.
Even at such a weak % and rinced afterwards? I thought it wouldn’t be too bad but I’d rather not take the chance if it is.
Not sure, I’m paranoid and just purchased a new pump so I personally wouldn’t risk it regardless.
My buddy does pools, they put more than just chlorine in them, it all depends on what is going on in the pool. Most of the time people keep all their chems in the pool shed/shack, take a look. Most people just try to shock the heck out of it by putting too many pucks in the basket
If a person can sit in that water for hours, your pump will be just fine for the time it takes to wash a house. Even cheap seals are more chemical resistant than my skin
The big question is, will they let you do that?
Couldn’t you fill supply tank half with well water then half with pool to cut it even more?
Might want to check with the customer on that since they might not want that. Taking out a large amount of water and filling it throws off the pool chemicals and they might need to add more / adjust them again. If it’s a salt pool they will definitely need to add back salt.
Thanks for the advice guys, they were fine with the water truck fee and we just did that.
