Plunger bolt head eroding near the o-ring seat

I’m looking at a plunger bolt for a general pump tsf2021.

A bottom piece of bolt head has eroded and chipped away. Right where the sealing o-ring is seated. If you look hard enough through the chip you can the o ring in it’s seat. The missing piece in the wall is a small window but it’s definitely there if you look. Wide enough to fit a fingernail between, and a little deeper than it is wide.

I would’ve taken a picture if I had a macro lens.

Obviously the bolt should be replaced, but that is gonna a few weeks to receive.

Can I run the pump with a bolt like this, in the meantime, or is it more of a risk than it’s worth. Is there known failures for a plunger bolt head wearing out like this?
