Please recommend a safety harness to work on a steep roof

Hello friends. Pretty much what the title says, I am looking to learn about available safety harnesses that I can use while on the roof. How do they attach to the roof? Do I need to throw it over the peak and fasten to my truck? Do I need to attach an anchor to the roof and fasten to it? What are you professionals use?

Thank you

I would start on Your Tube honestly.

Get with the WCR window cleaning forum, they can tell you better than the pressure washing side.

Thank you for recommendations!

I’m looking into this. Let me know if anyone has experience with them. The YouTube videos look good.

Qualifications 17 years as an ironworker/ rigger. Spent most of my career in a harness.
I’d recommend any Miller harness.
The sala exofit is the best in my opinion however at 500 a pop that will get expensive quick considering I have no idea what the chems will do to on over time.
Just about any harness with the tool belt will work. The tool belt is more for comfort and back support. Plus it’s much more comfortable if you fall.
Avoid the hard lanyard. Make sure it has a deceleration pack on it.
Your tie off point is your most crucial part of not hitting the ground. Shock force on your fall equipment is 5000 lbs.
All industrial fall equipment is rated for this.
Your tie off point is your weakest link. Especially on top of residential structures.
Hope it helps

Definitely would recommend a harness. I fell off a roof a few months ago and shattered my heel. Had to sit out peak business season recovering from surgery. It cost a fortune. Never gonna make that mistake again.

I use a ridge pro. Expensive yes, but it also works!

Easy to use and Setup for each job. I also use Cougar Paws on 9/12 and above. I use the Ridgepro on 10/12 and above or on 9/12 and two story or above. Cougar paws are like glue on the roof but they are damn uncomfortable, but they work, so I use them.
