Pest Control

Ok. I’ve got a new one.
Quoted a customer last month, they accepted the bid, I told them how busy I was and let them know they were on the list but I couldn’t commit to a scheduled date.
Last week, he called saying he normally has pest control come around this time of year to do a barrier treatment and was worried about the HW hurting the barrier treatment. I said I would try to get him in on Saturday. I wasn’t able to get him in and I apologized. Now he wants to cancel because the pest control guys told him that they can’t guarantee their work after a house wash. I am totally OK with him cancelling, I’ve got too many jobs right now for me being a weekend warrior.I am booked through the end of June.

Question is, have any of you heard of our process harming a barrier treatment?

I’ve heard it many of times. I usually refer them back to the pest control company and they end up calling back saying screw it, I’ll take my chances my house is dirty. I am following this thread because I’m curious as to what’s going on.

That’s basically what I did.
When he asked me if it would harm it , I said ask them.
That’s when they told him they couldn’t guarantee it after.

Had this issue come up this week…pest guy was in the yard…he said that he would use granular, it would pose no issues and to “wash on”. So, that is what happened…

Here’s a thought postpone the pest control guys until after the house wash.

Generally with window cleaning pest guys come in first 2 weeks later windows are ready to be cleaned, this is to ensure the pest control guys don’t leave a mess all over the windows (like many here seem to do).

We work very close with our local pest control company. They typically tell their customers to wait at least a week or two after the treatment before washing the house (or have it done beforehand). The pest control owner has never said anything about their treatment becoming ineffective after a house wash if you wait the recommended time after the pest control treatment.

Establish a relationship with the pest control company, it can be very beneficial. We refer them to a lot of our customers and vice versa.

Boom. One of the many, many reasons I take a booking deposit. People don’t mess with my schedule for stuff like this. They go to whomever is the other party involved, and try and get them to change their appointment :sunglasses:

Though I suppose it’s a little different if you can’t commit yourself to a specific day
