When one runs a small business we are pretty much bound to a windows operating system to run our business software. Or Phone Apps
I was truly happy with Windows 7 pro. It just worked. ( I would still be using it unfortunately there is no windows 7 support for my new hardware.)
Then windows 8 came out and i began to swear and throw things more than i used to.
Finally windows 10… i hate it it just looks wrong and the advertising is awful, i’ve turned off as many things as i can and it is still sending information somewhere.
Forget windows 11 same issues , a real feeling of loss of control. A lot of the software i need now requires a monthly or annual Subscription to use!
As of late, I’ve been slowly migrating to Linux from windows because i despise 10 and 11. (Windows 7 pro really spoiled me ) at the same time i hate entering commands in the console or terminal mainly because i don’t understand the language… so its been a learning experience. SO far Mint has been the most point and click friendly that I have tried. Of these are:
Debian: I struggled with constantly typing in commands.
Manjaro: Loved the look but struggled with command line input because the Arch commands was different than the Debian
Kubuntu: Again LOVED the KDE desktop but again struggled with configuring hardware
OpenSUSE: Again beautiful but again odd command language hard to find the correct terms.
Ubuntu: Good support, basic Debian commands, most things work… not really user friendly for me though as the menu’s didn’t feel intuitive.
And finally
Mint Cinnamon: So far… its been less of headache. Not as “Pretty” as KDE but it its been easier to work with in my experience. A lot of just point and click install software available and the LibreOffice works well.
Ok, I read it all. Maybe I missed it, but is there a point to your post? Or a question? Or is it just a rant?

Yea, when I first read it the other day I thought it was some kinda weird sales pitch for one of the OS that was mentioned… thinking it’s just a rant though. Use Windows, Mac, Chrome, or Linux… don’t make things complicated.
