Just wanted to check with the vets here first on this.
2019 I was asked to get the front 2nd story gutters on 75 out of ~127 units. At the time the maintenance guy said he used Wet and Regret on the lowers which have a lot more linear feet so just needed the uppers done. Needless to say the stuff didn’t do a darn thing.
Today I got a call from the replacement manager and he wants a bid on everything on the front, all 127 units. Long story short I did point out people have a lot of delicate plants and patio furniture to work around so he wants to put out a newsletter informing all these elderly owners I will be coming around on a certain date.
Question, should I just do a ‘surgical strike’ with a pump-up on the lowers? Blowing housewash mix all over the place with the 8gpm probably wouldn’t go over very well.
Your taking about just cleaning the outside of the gutters and nothing more?
I did a couple houses last year where they only wanted the outside of the gutters cleaned and not the house. What I did was mix up about 3% mix in a bucket, then wrapped by brush with a microfiber towel. Wet the brush / towel, then wipe it onto the gutters, two quick passes. It worked great and didn’t get any SH where I didn’t want it. Just rinsed them with a garden hose.
Regarding the fact it’s an elderly residence I also was asked to quote washing a relatively large 3 storey building for care of the elderly, the place is full of alzheimer’s patients, while i was walking around for the estimate they were all coming out on their balconies to ask what i was doing, i knew if we washed they would all come out on their balconies every 5 minutes asking what we’re doing and get a facefull of housewash mix accidentally in the face, or slip and fall on the slippery balconies, i said we couldn’t wash it. I had no idea how to do it safely. That and ac’s in windows everywhere.
What’s your plan to prevent this from happening? Anyone ran into this?
you can find them cheap on facebook marketplace, usually less than 100$, keep it rinsed and you should get a couple years out of it. I use one for sealing pavers. There is a ryobi 2 gallon that i tried but it was junk, the ryobi 4 gallon works great though.
