Parking garage cleaning...I could use some pointers

So I just bid on a few parking garages. They’re pretty small as far as parking garages go. Ranging from 20,000-30,000 sq ft.

My main concern is drainage and reclaim. The biggest one has two interceptors. If I’m understanding correctly then I believe I can just drain the water into the interceptors because they filter the water…I think. Still researching. The other garages just have sanitary sewers and I know I need to filter the water before dumping down the drain.

Anyone have any experience with these kind of projects? I read all the threads related to the subject but still have some questions.

The other maim question I have is about water supply. All the garages have fire hose spigots. Can I use them without setting off some kind of fire alarm? Do I need any special equipment to operate them other than a fire hose? Can a Hudson float valve take the pressure supplied from a fire hose line?

Thanks in advance. I’m pretty sure I’ll get the jobs and am very excited to step my business up to a new level.

Search fire hydrants. Innocentbystander has talked about how to use them a few times. Seems easy enough, I would use them if they were more accessible on my residential jobs.

Thanks. I’m more concerned with setting off a fire alarm. Its not a hydrant but a fire hose connection within the building itself. Id assume they pretty much work the same.

Those are standpipes. No water on them until fire department pressurizes them. Call your water dept and see about getting hydrant meter.

Ok will do and thanks for the heads up.

Ok. Now I see the problem. I have no idea.

Talk to your local water/sewer authority. They will be the only one that can give you 100% accurate advice when it comes to water reclaim
