Paint removal on concrete race track

@Racer yes, you will have sand everywhere you point. its quite messy.
And rule of thumb is @SchertzServicesLLC 1 pound of sand per square.

want to sift it I just buy the media blast

Correct

Anyone use the arm and hammer products with their blasters? Very curious about it, better than sand all over too.

I have a blast cabinet in my garage for smaller items, but was looking at this vs vapor blasting

@Racer I get mine from Scruggs concrete its 3 bucks a bag. Little less if I buy a pallet of 50 lb bags. Itā€™s fine sand no rocks or pebbles in it. If you get play sand it will have pebbles in it and stop your nozzle up aggravating! A 15 or 25 degree nozzle works best I hardly ever use a 0 degree.

@Racer last iron railing and furniture I did a few months back we used a little pot sander. Layed a tarp under the shed and kept vacuuming up the sand and pouring it back in the pot. Worked out great and was way cheaper than using the pressure washer. They have them @ harbor freight for under 100 bucks and they work great if u have a decent size compressor.

Give the job to a media blaster. This is what they do. And they are good at it.

Did you get that from Envirospec? See them in their ads all the time. You just drop the end in a bucket or bag of sand?

Iā€™m looking to make this as quick & painless as possible. Can sit it out in yard. Just a table and 4 chairs. Getting real old using steel brush on my grinder.

Do they provide special tips or do you just use old pw tip you got laying around?

It takes 1/4 in screw in mega nozzles like the sludge pump. You can just stick it in the bag or use a 5 gallon bucket with the lid and drop the probe through the pour spout if u worried about the sand getting wet. You have to keep the draw hose above the gun or the sand will get wet and clogg the draw hose.

If you still have your 4 GPM machine it will work better more sand.

The city contractors around me use that ā€œSand blasting attachmentā€ to remove graffiti on cement sidewalksā€¦ Never seen a sidewalk etched after there doneā€¦ Looks like it works

Hell I have one sitting here on my deskā€¦ Need to try it

Thatā€™s a big area. I would find a local striping company. They have walk behind and ones u ride they use to remove stripes. Would probably work great for that then he could come behind them and clean good for paint. Call them to come out and try a spot and just contract it out.

Thanks for the info

It doesnā€™t make a huge mess the medium is very fine. If you put tarp down itā€™s just going to put holes in the tarp I try to hang what Iā€™m working on. Harbor freight sells the small gun its gravity feed so definitely gotta shake it every once in a while. You may also want to look into walnuts may be a little easier on the metal

Iā€™ve been thinking about having my backyard sanded anyway, Iā€™ll just move the stuff around to the low spots and all the places my dogs have dug up, lol. Kill 2 birds with 1 shot.

There you go. Good thing about the pressure washing attachment is it is good for graffiti. Iā€™m sure you will find other uses for it I keep a bucket of media and it on my truck these days

Yes sir . Little tip, Do not allow the sand to get wet, I put the sand in a five gallon bucket with a lid and screw cap. Take screw cap off ,put your suction tube in , Keep it away from your task at hand so it stays dry.

Would work great. I like the biker version! Probably could get 500 a day rent on that thing and have it paid off in no timešŸ‘ Get some flames painted on it a helmet and a I Eat Paint tattoo.
