Paint is Coming Off Doors!

Nobody said anything about colored vinyl. We’d all be broke if we only cleaned white siding. He’s just talking about a few colors of paint on wood siding.

I haven’t had any issues with painted siding but I do use a weak mix on it. Although, I haven’t washed every color mentioned.

Negative he’s saying colored vinyl as well.

Although I hate doing reds and browns we will still do them. Just double rinse on fan and your fine

Far as the doors, it happeneds. Make friends with a painter.

We messed up a garage door last week, freshly painted this summer and overspray hit it and turned brown to lime green instantly.

I think it was interior paint, but you suck it up and deal with the losses. Cost me $250 to get it repainted. O well.

I don’t think I’ve heard anyone mention not washing colored vinyl on here before. What’s the issue with colored vinyl? I haven’t had any issues with any color of vinyl.

My house is painted red and has wood siding. Washed it when i first got my equipment and DS straight bleach with no problems.

I did have a weird spot appear on a old wood door i was about to replace. When i soft washed it with a turbo nozzle :thinking::thinking: any idea what would cause this?

I notice a huge reduction in spiders if I wash a couple times a year.

That is not at all what I’m saying. Four colors, that’s pretty much it. Wash whatever makes you happy. I’m not taking the gamble. Seen first hand what can happen. And for the love of Pete, can someone make this stupid blue circle go away. I tried to be ok with it but it sucks

So what’s the downfall to washing the four “dont wash these colors” vinyl siding? I understand the sherwin William’s paint issues with the organic tinting but I haven’t read any horror stories or anything about vinyl.

Type this in the search

Red blue green brown and read why

What have you seen happen? Please inform…

Those colors will discolor when washed. I’ve seen it as well. Washed a deck and they had a blue painted storage box that was sw paint. It looked horrible when I was done.

Well all vinyl is colored lol. The abnormal colors that you listed is what I meant. I agree through, and hope to phase it out next season. Phased out aluminum, Hardi, Roofs, Decks…and it’s been less of a headache and more &$

I’ve discolored things before.
I did an old truck once and had to use degreaser on the motor bay. Some splashed on the fender. I didn’t notice it until it dried. spots and slight run Mark’s. Anyways ,I figured out that it discolored the paint because the clear coat was gone years prior to me washing it. Do you guys have the same problems on oxidized or crap paint as well I’m thinking ?

I believe our house wash can make the oxidation more noticeable on blue vinly houses especially. They dry blotchy and seem to take days to dry even. I’ve had one stay blotchy looking permantly. Lucky for me the homeowner knows about oxidation and saw his siding getting worse over the years. I don’t do blue house.
