Outdoor Festival

Anyone ever rent a vendor booth to promote their business at an outdoor festival?

Considering renting a booth in my local festival and showcase our company. Plenty of marketing materials: pens, coozies, brochures etc. Thinking of also throwing in an engaging game to win prizes. Grand prize being a house wash or exterior window cleaning and idk random mini prizes. Probably hot fries or high fives.

I spent hundreds to be in a big home show about 10 years ago. Had my truck and plow and mowing equipment on display. Didn’t get 1 job from it lol. But I didn’t do pressure washing either then.

There’s a local company that installs doors and windows that’s at EVERYTHING. Kansas City Irish Fest, Gladfest, County fairs. You name it. They’re at everything. Which leads me to believe that it works for them.

Why I think it works for them is they do a giveaway where people fill out their info and drop it in a fish bowl. Whoever they draw, gets free windows or something like that.

Everyone else is a lead for everyone that wants new windows and subsequently gets called by their sales people.

A friend of mine does a lot of that with his bouncy house rental Buisness. It seems to work very well for him. He actually blows up one as part of his display for kids to play on for free while he’s there.

This is a $175 buy in for 2 days. Plus marketing materials probably put me at $400ish. I’m not sure about how much exposure I would get or how many attendees. But I’m going for it. I run a small outfit and the only one in my growing town. Haven’t joined the chamber yet but trying to get the local status and brand recognition elevated…somewhat.

That is a deal. A table for 2 hours at an apartment trade show convention cost me $2k, plus coffee mugs or whatever trinkets I give away. I have also paid for the table and not shown up because I was busy but at least my name was in the pamphlets .

Like the contact info in the fishbowl idea. I was leaning towards a raffle but this streamlines it

Maybe I bring along some water squirt guns?? Let the kiddos hash it out. Water ballon fight?? It is texas. It will be in the 90s in October more than likely. :sunglasses:

just looked up apartment convention. That’s a no thanks for me cost wise. Austin cost of living and everything in general is outrageous. We do have an annual garden show i trolled this year as a guest handing out business cards. It didn’t roll over so well for me.

Versus $175 is low risk. But more often than not you get what you pay for. Also, The phone numbers are only good if you call them.

I have a show coming up in 2 weeks for self managed condo associations. Meeting in the spring, 80 different associations attended.

Cost for a table is only $50

Get a bubble machine. It will draw the kids and parents with follow. I had my business card made into magnets. Gave them out free to customers. You can lose a business card but a magnet can stay around a lot longer. Get their info on site and follow up with an estimate. People are lazy and forget full, like myself.

Brilliant!

My son has one of those. We thought of that also. Another thing we are planning is selecting our booth in relation to the attractions that yield more leads. There’s a kids area, concert area, antique car show etc.

I find that most of my customers are older so Antique car area might be a good spot.

I started looking into one. I never did it because I don’t have a vendor license in that town and it started to get complicated. Definitely has potential.

I was thinking about making a plywood cutout of a house and putting some kind of green slime on there for the kids to wash off with the water guns.

Another idea was to put a sign on the end of my Unger pole and put it 20 feet up in the air so nobody can miss me.

Just fire up the machine and start spraying sh into the air. That’ll draw them in.
