Old school just wondering

Back in the late 80s there were no on line PW sites. So you didnt know anybody else or have a way to ask questions. Back then I did everything with water. Didnt even know about chems doing the work for you and I have no idea if other people did. S. Florida was all tile roofs and we used pressure and even surface cleaners on that. As far as I know there were 2 surface cleaners back then. A $1200 hover model with a very tall deck, and my $300 model which was all aluminum with a deck the height of todays round modles. $300 was a lot of money back then and the dam thing burned up spindles almost monthly. So my question is…back in the 80s were guys using 12v stuff, educated on correct tips, etc, or was it all spray and go? I have no idea. I was in rock bands and owned an underwater yacht maintenance company and added a pressure cleaning pro built trailer. Seems like it has really come a long way since then.

Both work, the soft wash just a lot easier and faster in most cases.

and safer for you and better for most surfaces…

Of course. Soft wash roofs. Driveways, 2500 psi. My 20 inch surface cleaner works fast on driveways with a good pre treat. That one inch of bar for every gpm is not accyrate at all. When i use my 18" I can tell no difference between that and the 20. Like Racer said, perpendicular passes, then after 40 inches i do circles real quick. Never had a line ever. If the flat has really bad small areas that pressure cant take up i do one third of the driveway, rinse, then spot treat it with 10% in a pump up after rinsing, move on , then return after the entire driveway is done and quickly wand it. Works for me.

I’m dying here.
