Oily Dumpster, just for fun

So this guy would like this dumpster pad at an oil joint cleaned… anyone run into something like it? Shouldn’t be too hard, but I’m questioning the logic of bothering if they don’t clean out the dumpster (and quit just dumping oil everywhere) too…or at least turn off the oil spigot on that dumpster…

Hot water, standard degreaser, any other thoughts?

I’ve put down kitty litter or oil absorbing powder day or two prior to cleaning and it helps……hot water and a great degreaser like you said.

Depends on if you want to make an impression or not.

This was asphalt seal coat spilled. Customer used Roughneck 80% and Nuclear mega boost 20%, 1 gallon total, 200° hot water and a turbo nozzle. 1.5 hours.

I was thinking this sounds like a sales pitch… Turns out it is lol.

No there’s a million products that can work. Dragon Juice, EBC, F9 etc.

I’ve seen plenty that leave something to be desired as well. Especially working with a family owned chemical company that will actually explain and teach things.

Honestly I was impressed that asphalt seal coat came up at all. He did mention the other degreaser he tried did nothing.

Note the lack of links.

Just replying to his post- is it worth it.

In the post I made - i know the contractor personally and that job led directly to another job and now he’s the main vendor for a large contractor in central Texas. So if you can deliver impressive results and the cost isn’t prohibitive in time or chemicals I’d say it’s worth the effort to make the attempt.

But not all stains and not all concrete are the same.

My reply is on your comment “is it worth it”. My thought is, you shouldnt care is it worth it. They have a pain point and are asking for you to help them with a pain. They want to give you money. Why do you care if they dont want to fix the issues that cause the mess. Its recurring money in your pocket! People dont want to clean their own homes so some of them hire house cleaners. Can they do it themselves or put things back in place. They choose to not do their maintance. If they want to pay money to fix a pain point shut your mouth and say, YES you can help them with that, and while im here i can also help you with this other issue over here too. Just be honest and inform them what you’re outcome is likely to be. Enjoy!

I have no issue fixing their pain point, but I’m not going to do so without making them aware of the issue at hand. We’re not going to get the rust off the siding without letting them know they really need to replace that rusty drain pan in the attic…

what was the other degreaser he tried?

that’s exactly what i had to use on a commercial grease trap cleaning truck spill. ebc didn’t touch it. Gold assassin and beads did it for me… and a stiff bristle brush plus some scraping.

I know what Gold Assassin is, but what are the “beads”?

Sodium Hydroxide (Caustic Soda Beads)

He used them to boost the strength of it.

GA works on plenty of stuff. Roughneck and Nuclear Mega Boost just worked where it didn’t. Lots of ways to solve problems.

I’ll do some googling now that I know the name, but I’m assuming it just gets mixed in?

Yes. Just like Nuclear Mega Boost was used to strengthen Roughneck. Similar but different.

WTF? who is naming these products? I don’t know if they are trying to blow up an island or clean something. I’m not busting your chops about the product specifically, never used it or looked it up, just the name is killing me.

Edit, just looked it up, it is your stuff. Did you name it? Why not “grease ■■■ kicker” with some cowboy boots kicking grease since you are a texan.

:rofl::rofl: “Hurt feelings don’t pay the bills”

That gave me a good laugh this morning.

I’ve got a little bit of a sense of humor and I don’t mind twisting people.

hey, I was just thinking, is the name inspired from your service?

No just the chemist cracking me up with his journey to melt concrete. He was originally 70% caustic but backed it down it to 60%.

Truthfully most my stuff really is based off humor. Unless my VP overrules me if I let her.

The chemical company is a local Texas company and family owned. They’re fun to work with and a great resource for us to help contractors tackle stuff.
