Oil on pump?

Hi all. Been ages since I’ve posted anything on here!

Got a question about my GP TSF2021 8gpm pump. By the time the season ended here recently, I’d noticed a buildup of oil sitting on top of my pump case. Maybe as much as half an ounce? It seemed to happen slowly, probably over many months. The pump has about 400 hours on it now. It still works fine, but I don’t think I noticed oil on top like that before.

The first time I noticed it I became very careful to check that the fill cap was always on tight and that there was oil in the sight-glass. The oil level is right where it should be, and doesn’t seem cloudy or anything.

Do any of you guys have this issue? Is it normal?

Thanks!

Normal. As long as sight glass is half full keep going

Hey, thanks for the quick reply. That’s good news! One less thing to take care of during the winter break.

Normal. Your dip stick should have a vent on it. It vents from the dipstick (fill hole of pump)
Mine does same thing. Wipe it off and wash on.

Ah, that makes sense.
