Offering to "fix" a bad job

I’ve driven by multiple houses with awful looking zebra striping on their drives. I’ve been thinking about offering to fix it on the super cheap or possibly even free if I can schedule a paying job next door. Anyone have any success doing this or think it’s a good/bad idea? I just can’t imagine the homeowner could be happy with results like that and I feel like it could be a good way to gain a reputation for doing the job the right way.

Typically, it was done by a well-intentioned close friend or family member. So, if they get it “fixed”, somebody is going to have hurt feelings. So they live with it.

Maybe offer a test spot to the homeowner to show the difference
