Nozzle Sizing chart confusion

Sorry, just sorry I know this has been discussed but I’m just not getting it. Tried here and YT and I guess I’m dumb.

I’ve got a 4/4000 machine. I look at this nozzle chart and see if I’ve got a 4gpm 4000psi machine I need a 4.0 tip. Got it.

If I want to know how much psi and gpm a different nozzle would give my 4/4 machine how do I figure it out?

Go across the top to find the PSI you want to achieve… move down that column to your machines GPM or close to it (if using a surface cleaner split the GPM by how many nozzles the surface cleaner has)… Move across that row to the left to find the orifice size you need for your nozzle to achieve the PSI.

That makes perfect sense. Thank you!

Someone here on here sent me this site a while back, I use it all the time.

When you get into meg nozzles (if you’re building a jrod or putting them on a surface cleaner) the first 2 digits are the spray pattern & the next 2 digits are the size of the orifice. A 2540 is a good soap nozzle for a 4gpm & a 2510 will be good for decks & cutting in concrete. A 2504 would be the equivalent of the #4 nozzle you speak of, which would really have too much pressure to be useful for anything.

…or just stash it in an old pickleball shoe.
