Nozzle questions. 3000psi 2.7gpm. Seems to put a huge load on my machine

Hey everyone. I just ordered some nozzles from Amazon. They are labeled MAX 4500 PSI. I read the reviews, people are saying they work great out of their 2100 - 4500 PSI unit, so I put them on my wand, I then notice my machine almost sounds like it’s going to stall out, but it never does. Washed my house, and put the machine away.

So I switch back and forth from the stock nozzles to the new nozzles and the machine sounds super stressed using the new nozzle tips. Maybe I need to get different nozzles?

Any ideas on what I should look for?
Should I look for tips that say “3000PSI 2.7gpm” not the “4500 PSI max”

What size of nozzles did you order? The size of the opening is what controls your PSI. I wouldn’t think that the size of the nozzle would be adding that much “stress” to your pressure washer.

Look at any nozzle chart to find your psi and gpm and that is the nozzle size you need for your machine for it to work correctly. For yours at 2.7 gpm you can see you need between #3 and #3.5. Your always safer going with the higher one.

Pretty sure the nozzles on Amazon aren’t marked except for what OP mentioned. I guess the answer is to buy a nozzle from an industry supplier that specifies the size to see if you get the same condition.

Thanks guys / girls. So, I need size 3.5GPM nozzles?

So far, I’ve tried 2.5 and 2.7 GPM nozzles, they both seem to almost kill my engine. The wand gets super weak and the engine starts to shake. The back pressure from the wand is around half of what the original nozzles push feels like.

Is this what I should order? Thanks.

The 3.5 is the orifice size. It does not designate gpm. So if you need a 15° tip, you would buy a 15035. A 25° would be a 25035

Thanks Joe.

So this set should work then?

Thanks.
