This is the pump that I use. It sometimes pays for itself ten times over. In one single day. I buy them from a guy named Bob who is a super knowledgeable and helpful roof cleaners friend.
I like Northern Tool, there equipment is not as hi-end as other people equipment . But the fact is, if you maintain this pump like you would one of the hi-end pumps, you will get the life out of it. I own a set up from Pressuretek … Great equipment …

I’ve owned several, just like other brands I’ve owned the switch is the weak link. Their replacement plans work as advertised…I’ve returned three with that and they just pull a new one off the shelf (you might have to pay the difference if they went up in price). That said, keep in mind I’ve needed to return three of those…and we don’t use our 12v pumps everyday.
We have a Northern Tool in my town and I shop there a lot. I tried one of their 5gpm pumps when I was learning, years ago. It quit working on my 1st or 2nd job. I took it back, they smelled bleach and didn’t want to warranty it. I’ve been using the fatboy pumps from Pressure Tek for years now with really good results. Just never wanted to try another north star pump for roofs. Down time is too much of a hassle. I do have an old northstar 2.2 gpm pump that I’ve abused for years. That thing seems impossible to kill!

Don’t get me wrong…I love me some Northern Tool…but when the profit of our business depends on the reliability and quality of equipment we use…I don’t gamble with lower price or off brand equipment.
It is only $50 more for the fat boy… it is meant for roofs! and honestly I don’t think I’ve ever done a roof for less than $250 so it should easily be paid for in one day
I was looking at the fat boy prices where I live and they are just a little over $400 plus tax.
Best place on line for a fat boy?
Bob will not ship to Canada and he seems to have the best prices.
