New trailer setup!

Ok cool. And I’ll probably stick with mixing SH and surfactant out of 5 gallon pail. Thanks everyone for your inputs.

If your going to gravity feed a direct drive you’ll want your buffer tank positioned and plumbed where you run less then 3 feet of hose straight to your machine. No bends or anything. Anything else and you will have issues

Ok thanks. I can make that happen.

Hey where did you buy the mounts for the skid looks good

Can I use an IBC tote? I know it’s recommended 50 gallons for a 4gpm but I can get the tote for free…

Im assuming its a 50+ gallon tote, but yeah you can.

Yeah it is around 200

Shouldn’t be a probpem. Probably batter than just 50 gallons

Its not that you cant use a tote, but totes take up a lot of floor space. They use 4x4ft on a trailer. Also im not sure of your axle capacity but when full they are about 2300lbs, and even when drained after a job to keep water over the bulk heads your at about 25ish gallons left in the tank to travel with. Weights not the problem there but sloshing, its not horrible but you notice. Leg tanks help with allowing the water to roll up the side vs slam into a flat wall. You can use a float valve and regulate the max water level you want the tank to hold, but again now you have a 4ft box taking up a lot of space. They do have a nice frame that you can attach stuff to, so that a plus.

I use to have one and since dropped down to a 125 gallon tank. With the space saved i added a 50 gal SH tank and and air compressor.

Yeah I would prefer the legged tank. I plan on eventually upgrading my machine. My concern is sloshing while driving also. Tractor supply didn’t have a legged 50 gallon. Had a 35 though. And northern is ridiculous on their prices for tanks. Even a local industrial supplier quoted me $475 for a 50 gallon legged tank. RIDICULOUS!!! I’m going to call around to some local farm suppliers.

Use a drum instead

I got a 350 gallon leg tank for 175 north west of dallas. Don’t pay prices like that, not worth it.

Good work. That’s better than I started with. Because I was dumb. No other good reason. Lol.

With a 4 gpm you can buffer with a 35 gallon tank just fine unless water pressure in your area is terrible and I can virtually promise you’ll want the room.

Let me know if I can help. Tyler brought me a monster of a trailer with 5200# axles so I didn’t get to show off my ability to squeeze 5 lbs of schmoo in a 10 lb bag.

Also, fist bump for Costco. Lol. Emma runs the photo department at ours. Surprisingly excellent job and company.

Yeah I was wanting to keep room but the totes were free. If I can use 35 gallons that would be great. I actually started with a pressure washer I bought from Costco. When I start I mean, I did a few homes. Trying to figure out how to generate business. I’ll keep using the search button. Lol Costco has really taken care of my wife and I. Insurance is amazing! How does she like the the photo department? I drive a forklift in the mornings from 4am-1230pm. I get off early and I like washing so it works. Oh. I would grabbed a bigger trailer but this one was $600 and works for exactly what I need. Also my buddy has a farm and when/if I need to upgrade he will buy for a welding setup. Worked out great!!! Thx @squidskc all your post help a lot.

My first pressure washer was the electric start Subaru from Costco lol… I did quite a few homes with it! Then I learned about softwashing and life changed forever!

That’s the one!!! Lol I bought the 4gpm after that. Didn’t know about this site so I didn’t have knowledge to go get at least a 5.5 gpm. But I returned my washer back to Costco. Lol Costco is amazing for that.

I wore mine out too and they gave me cash back. Used it for a year and never paid a dime lol.
I’m building either an 8 or 10 GPM machine here in the next few weeks. I have been spending all the money I could on the new softwash system and skid.

Keep us posted on that build. Would love to see that. I’m trying to keep things as simple as possible til I can generate more business. Don’t want to be in over my head you know.
