New to Pressure Washing MS

Hey guys, my name is Grant. A little background about myself. Ive been in lawn care on the MS gulfcoast for the last 15 years, and finally decided to get out of it. The market has become saturated with “beer money cutters” cutting for $15 a yard, and has significantly hindered business. Im looking to getting into pressure washing houses, starting small with residential houses and driveways only. Before i do that, i want to learn and educate myself with as much knowledge as possible. I will now be reading this website religiously, but was wondering if you guys has any recommendations on youtube channels, books, etc i could read as well. Also what you guys recommend on a starting rig. I have a 99 Ford ranger and a budget of about $3000. Thank you guys for all your help, and will be looking forward to soaking up all the knowledge from this community

Welcome Grant. Nice to have dedicated people in this industry and on this web site. If I could recommend one thing to you it would be for you to go a couple of towns over from where you plan to work, find a reputable pressure washing company, and offer to work for them as a helper for free so you can learn the business. If you are honest about what you are doing you will find someone willing to help you out. You will learn more, faster about pressure washing industry in a couple of weeks that you could ever hope to figure out on this web site. (Not that this site is not valuable as well!)

Apex Pressure Washing

Hey, Grant. I’m also from MS, but the opposite end of you up next to the TN border. I’m just getting started this year myself, and I had roughly the same budget as you (and a Ranger…lol). I recommend reading this board religiously and checking out Michael K.'s videos on youtube. You can learn almost everything you’d ever need by searching the forums and reading the threads. The videos are very helpful too, especially for us more “visual” learners.

I went with a 2500 PSI, 5.5 GPM washer from KEC Supplies which was $1500 including freight. I think the specs are great for residential washing, but it’s not a good choice for commercial. You’d need a surface cleaner for driveways as well - around 19" max. The Whisper Wash Classic is a good choice.
