New rig “Dirty Money”

Make a video while you walk around the trailer.
I am interested on how you placed the lights.
Thks

I kept the flow down using the valve in the meter. It was still more than the machine could push during those townhomes. I had a full tote within 30 minutes of washing.

I tried choking the hydrant from its valve and the valve on the meter and still needed the HFV.
1/4 turn one way and the hydrant was blasting. 1/4 turn the other way and all I got was a whistle. Lol

$26 hydrant wrench on Amazon and a 1 inch reducer to 3/4 ght are all you need. Lol the city should just hand you a meter after you pay a deposit.

City, water district, public works etc. they all have different names and all the same purpose. Lol

Yep. Get a 1" bulkhead fitting, and it screws right in. Put a barb on the top and run a jumper hose from your garden hose reel to the barb.

IB would know better than me, but i think i read that hydrants should be either all the way on, or all the way off. Im assuming its not a big deal if you are just choking the valve on the meter, but dont know for sure.

Also if you guys ever want to rinse with a fire hydrant, i bought 100’ of 1 1/2" decommissioned fire hose off ebay for $45 shipped. No issues with it. You can get adapters to use 3/4" hose also, but the 1 1/2" puts out some really nice flow, plus it’s super cheap.

That’d be sweet rinsing mud off a parking lot if you could nozzle it down some to get little more pressure out of it w/o having to run thru your pw.

Oh man, it puts out a massive amount of water compared to my pressure washer. I bet it would push cinderblocks with ease, from 10 feet. I used it on a 40k square foot parking lot, and it saved so much time. I used a special nozzle that im linking. I didnt buy it off ebay, i bought it from a local fire supply company, but i think it’s basically the same one. Screw it to the hose and hold on.

We originally used the 2" blue hose from TSC, but it is very heavy when you have several hundred feet, and it tears easy when you drag it across the pavement. The 1 1/2" fire hose holds up better, and is a bit more manageable. You can couple the fire hoses together, as they come with the 1 1/2" threaded connections on them, or you can connect to the blue hose with adapters.

That’s awesome.

TS, do you get permission before tapping into a hydrant? That’s some really boss moves right there! You could run a surface cleaner the size of a Volkswagen with that much water supply😁

Ditto on what TS said. Hydrant can be gated down but stem must be either fully opened or closed. 21 turns to open typically

Were off subject now but I’m intrigued! Would one of the Yoda’s here @Innocentbystander @Racer @tireshark @squidskc throw together a quick video or step by step on what it takes to connect to a hydrant? This is something Id love to do as well but a little bit hesitant…

Every municipality has different regs. Some supply meter and install it, some provide meter and you install it, some you provide your own meter, still others require no meter or backflow, just an airgap. I’ll do a video when i get back in town

If your tank is overfilling and you’re having to stop to check the tank you should install a Hudson float valve that way it’ll shut off the water flow when it reaches the float.

The city don’t the city utility company does. Did one last month it cost me to rent about a $100 used it about 6 hrs cost me like $40 water did 3 apt buildings with no water spickets. i had a pig pipe wrench to open close it…

Please don’t use a pipe wrench. Not only is it illegal, it rounds off the ears of the pentagon nut and a fireman won’t be able to open it when he needs to.

Another $26 and you coulda had the proper wrench for it. I don’t even know how you could put a pipe wrench on a pentagonal nut…

Well you see squid. You turn the little round thing to open the wrench and then you…

Yeah, but on a pentagon only one jaw would be on a flat and the other would be on a point.

Maybe not everyone knows the difference between pentagon and hexagon. Sometimes you have to start at step 1 lol.

You gotta consider the one using the pipe wrench lol
