Vendors want to sell you oil AND belts. It will always be recommended. I can get over 4000 hours out of a gearbox with regular oil changes, I’ve never had a need to look at belt drives. Look at all the pros and cons and decide for yourself.

I think you mean ‘gear drive’. Direct drive doesn’t have reduction gears.

You’re always bragging about having the smallest hose. You say you like it cause it’s small, light, and carrying it around doesn’t cause near the fatigue as dragging around a hose the size of mine all day.
