New Member Introductions

Hey all…

Im based here in Australia and been looking around over the last few months to be starting up something of my own… Pressure washing is what took a hold of me and im still not sure if its the right decision but seeing the amount of dirty driveways in Auz, the pressure washing business idea keeps bringing me back to “there has to be a need for this”

All my life I have dealt with people over the phone. My sales and communication skills developed makes me believe I could do this job so here I am taking a big leap hoping it will turn into something full time and grow enough for me to pass on a successful business to my kid who may take it on or may not, that’s totally up to him as well!!

Hope I can contribute from the land down under and gather as much needed info as possible from this great community!

Cheers
Jits…

Welcome

Thanks Racer!!

Hi everyone! My name is Preston. I am 26, from Minnesota and am looking to become self employed through PWing. I just came across this group and I am already in love with the community after reading just a few posts.

After PWing my parents concrete at their house in the south a few summers back, it dawned on me that it could be a potential service to offer. I was finishing school and in construction at the time building pole barns so I didn’t put a lot of thought into PWing. Every once in a while though it would float across my mind and spark excitement!

Finally a few months ago I decided I wanted to give it a go and try it out once the weather turned nice (it still hasn’t as of the time of this post lol). You don’t know unless you try it right?

I have some starter equipment to begin with. Transportation wise I only have my Camry haha but I make it work. Dream of having a small truck/trailer eventually.

I want to clean small houses as a start and expand from there. There is a lot of stucco, vinyl, and brick where I located. I have already started doing some family members houses for practice and want to find some first clients soon.

I am in the process still of trying to get everything organized. I have a few names I like and need to get the LLC registered. I’m trying to figure out beginner marketing, and if I should have a customer, contractor agreement from the get go. Did I say that right?

In the end I want to be able to do quality work for quality people like yourselves. I am glad I found this community and hope to connect with some of you!

Hi! It’s nice to meet you! Are you new to this group too?

Yessir i’m a week old lol

Welcome! This is a good place, dig and read and read and read. There’s so much more to learn than you’d ever believe on the front end.

As far as marketing, nothing will serve you better than tucking in your shirt, waving at passers-by, and doing a phenomenal job. When I started out I got more jobs by referral than anything else. Neighbors talk, and as long as you’re a good person and your results exceed expectations you’ll do great.

Get insurance.

A DIY-er, by day a piano technician, but with plenty of upper body strength. I made it through the washing of our 8’x14’ deck with 25 years of black mold, thanks to the discussions I read here. I’m joining the Forum for my 1st (and maybe only) post, to cap off this job

Hey All,
I’m a reformed auto mechanic getting started in the exterior business. Currently building my rig and learning every day, thanks to some very generous people on this forum. I’m in western Oregon, for now.
I’m grateful for this resource and I hope I can contribute in the future.

Hello all,

I diy all my pressure washing and i just needed a sounding board from the pro’s and the experienced. I’ve read several answers on here and they are well thought out and articulate… won me over. I look forward to learning more.

Hello everyone! My name is Sammy Evans, I am the owner and operator of Evans’ Elite Exterior Cleaning right outside of Knoxville, TN. I am twenty-three years old and i previously worked as a Team lead at a Sharpie factory and then sold cars while I saved up for my trailer-build and advertising budget, I am now getting ready to dive in and go full time. I have very big goals and a big vision for myself in this industry. I found this website from The Pressure Washing Guide, and I am very thankful to be here.

Sup dude! I’m in farragut. 34 yo, been running a small business on the side of my full time career. We should link up and help one another. Any jobs i get too big i could send to you and small ones you might not want to take i could cover. Might be helpful as we’re both learning. I’m new to chemicals and not the best at marketing.
Business is called SaniCans. look me up on fb or here. be glad to chat

Hello all, my name is Tyler and me and a couple of buddies are going/want to start a pressure washer business hopefully within the next coming weeks. Better to get started right away than later right?

We’re located in the mid west, NE to be exact. We think that this is untapped market in the area/town we want to start in. It only has a couple of other competitors one being a local older gentleman and a newly
established PW business. Newly established I am talking about has not even done 10 jobs yet.

So room for $$$ is infinite at this point with right marketing i understand, but I have been reading all your threads as much as i can. Information here has been insanely helpful and appreciate all you guys posted!

I’d give it 6 months to a year to research, make a game plan, get your buddies out of the picture and buy equipment.
