New Guy from West Kentucky

Hello everyone… I would just like to introduce myself. My name is Walter Cummings from Madisonville, KY. I am a full time firefighter and I just purchased a rig from a family member. I only work 10-12 days a month at the fire department and want to do this as a side job. My business name is Cummings Property Maintenance, LLC. The rig was built by Big Red Supply out of Bowling Green, KY. It’s an 8.5 GPM 3500 PSI hot water machine inside an enclosed trailer with a 500 gallon water tank. It has the dual gun option already set up. It only has 1300 hours on it. It also has a 55 gallon drum with its own separate pump for applying detergents. I’ll try to post some pictures of the setup sometime. The only things that it really needs are some new hoses and a surface cleaner. I’m waiting on a call from Bill from the powerwashstore. So hopefully I can get those in the next few days. I have been doing a lot of reading on this forum and have learned quite a bit. I also just purchased the Pressure Washer’s Guidebook from Cleaner Times. I look forward to learning a lot more from you guys.

Welcome to the forum Walter. I’m a new to the gig too so still researching myself. There are some great guys here that are very helpful.

My in-laws live in Eddyville. They moved down there from IL about 20 years ago. My wife’s sister lives in Campton. She met her husband while at UK so that’s how she ended up out that way. My wife was in college up here when her parents moved so she stayed in IL. I’d move down there any day! Then again, almost any state is better than IL.

Thanks Brian. This forum has been very helpful. Best of luck to you with your business.
Where in Eddyville do your in-laws live? My aunt and uncle have a lake house in Kuttawa. We keep our boat docked at Hu-Bs. So I try to go down and fish as much as I can.

You probably go right past it on your way to Kuttawa. They live on a little farm right on 62. It’s a few miles before you get into Eddyille if coming from the east. There’s a little shop across the street that does lift kits and tuners on trucks. We usually make it down a few times a year. I use to spend a lot of time on Barkley fishing but really haven’t done much the last 5 years or so. Seemed like that lake was always hit or miss but more miss for me. One thing I learned fast was not to be on the other side of the lake when a storm blows in. My gosh does it get rough.

Welcome, small world. My family on my mothers side all from around HopTown. Had some in Clarksville and Pembroke. Fond memories from when I was much younger being in that area.

I am actually from Hoptown, and will be moving back within the next 6 months to a year. I’m sure that if I don’t know them, then my grandmother or my dad will.

@marinegrunt I think I know where you’re talking about. Next time I go there I’ll go that way. And I know exactly what you mean about getting stuck on the other end of Barkley. When I was in college, a few buddies and I got caught in a rain storm. Luckily we had a friend that lived near by, so we went to her house. But it was like bullets hitting us going across the water.
