New bulkhead, leak

I plumbed my tank today. Gasket inside, but outside. With a small dripping leak on the bottom bulkhead. I did a 1/8 to a quarter turn after hand tight. (Banjo fitting)
1" ID, I now found they recommend 2 1/4 hole but used a 2 3/8.
Do You think 2/16 making that much of a difference where it’s gonna leak?

Lol 2/16. But if it’s for your water tank I wouldn’t really worry about a small drip. If it’s a chem tank you may be able to put some silicone in between the bulkhead. I’m not sure if silicone holds up to bleach though. Or 3M makes stuff called strip caulk that I use a lot of

Just the water tank, I guess Ill live with it

You didn’t cut that hole that much bigger so I wouldn’t think it would make a difference. If possible just try and keep the seal centered when tightening. I would also tighten it a little more. Not sure if 1/8" past hand tight is enough to compress the seal. Another thing to check is if the tank is smooth where the bulkhead was installed. Is there any kind of raised lettering? There has so be a reason it’s leaking.

Don’t leave things leaking. No silicone should be needed. Hole is probably to big and not tightened enough

Or if the tank is rounded. I try and install bulkheads on the flat spots of the tank

If it’s just a water tank, I wouldn’t get too anal about it. Use silicone, flexseal, pine tar, bubble gum, JB Weld, or whatever you need to do to get it to stop leaking and move on to other things.

Sir, my opinion of you has taken a dramatic turn for the worse. You failed to mention the all important duct tape, which cures cancer and allows the joining of things that otherwise would be apart. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

So I got everything plumbed up and I can’t get the starter cord to pull.
It worked yesterday with a garden hose, so I took of the hose Barb and out the garden hose fitting back on
Still won’t pull.
It’s a fairly new washer under 120 hours

Only think I can think of is yesterday I shut the water off before I killed the pump. And some kind of compression lock in there occuring, but no idea

Any advice?

I’ll try this first

Release the pressure by squeezing the trigger

I don’t have a gun on the line. Have a ball valve and it’s wide open.

Maybe flooded the motor tilting it backwards replacing a snapped aluminum bolt holding the belt guard on

As far as the bulkhead is concerned if the bulkhead is a knock brand it could be a problem. I had a leak and bought Banjo and solved the problem. Also this silicone grease helps.

Guys on here told me to use it for a leaky bulkhead and it worked great.

I’m betting. Pull the spark plug, if you haven’t already.

As far as the bulkhead, I’m usually able to go a full turn or more past finger tight before it feels like I might break something. Never had a leaky bulkhead, yet, and no need for additional sealants or grease. I always end up cutting my holes a little wonky, too, because I don’t ever have the right size hole saw on hand. I just trace a circle with the washer and dremel it out.

All good now pulled the spark plugs and got all the fuel out. Runs like a champ, got some small air bubbles now coming from the outlet of the water filter…
I can’t tighten that thing anymore I feel like it’s gonna bust the plastic

Plumbing is not my forte haha but I’m trying

Bubbles could mean you need to tighten that connection.

I got it squared away appreciate it.
