Needing help with quick connect attachments for Simpson Pressure Washer

Hey everyone,

I am having difficulty trying to figure out what quick connects (male-female-sizes) to make everything compatible. I prefer everything being mostly quick connects. Here is the links of all the equipment that I purchased. Please help!

Reel for both hoses: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B002FHM19O/ref=ya_aw_od_pi?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Pressure washer: https://www.lowes.com/pd/SIMPSON-PowerShot-4200-PSI-4-GPM-Cold-Water-Gas-Pressure-Washer-with-Honda-Engine-CARB/1000120331

Hose 1: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00OHRTOD6?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title

Hose 2: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0010X7J78?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title

Ball Valve: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XH4ZXQP/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 (I want the ball valve near the spray handle)

Pressure gauge: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B07TPMW878?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title (I want the pressure gauge by either spray handle or near pressure washer)

What exactly are you needing to know about the connections? It looks like they already have 3/8" npt. Hose to gun is usually 3/8th and gun to wand is 1/4". From hose reel you want the hose leading with male quick connect.

What is the 3/8" Flexilla air hose for?

I would return that washer and get one with an unloader and injector that is not permanently attached to the pump.

Wholeheartedly agree…been there, done that. Take it back and get a belt drive with separate unloader. You’ll make back the money on no time, trust me.

I second this ^ my pump has the unloader and injector attached and the injector failed. They don’t make parts for the injector anymore so it’s discontinued and it’s hard to find a piece that actually fits in there because the injector is smaller than most

What pressure washer would you suggest?

Bare minimum…

4gpm, psi is not that important. Belt drive absolutely necessary so you can draw from a buffer tank.

Check local pressure wash suppliers or even companies, they may have a good deal on a used one.

Here’s an example:

I second this but I believe you should have at-least 3,000 psi for surface cleaning

I respectfully disagree. 3k psi is at the top end of the amount of pressure I’d use on any residential concrete, definitely not the lowest. Most searches on here will warn against going over 3000 psi. 2700 is my sweet spot at 7gpm, good speed and no stripes to date with a solid post-treat

I use to have a pressure gauge at the end of my hose just before my wand or surface cleaner so I could tell what psi I was putting out, my surface cleaner always read 3k on the dot. Never stripped any concrete cream or left any sort of marks yet on my 20” General pump! knock on wood.

These pics are living proof! 2700 isn’t far off though! 3k is just my personal sweet spot

Not entirely accurate, a geardrive will do the same. Direct drive will work as well provided you know how to set it up and know what your doing. Should you use a direct drive for professional business use? No, unreliable and low life expectancy.
