We are getting a lot of roof jobs lately so we needed to build a roof pump setup for the trailer. Up to now we just downstream with a remote control DS setup on our 10gpm machine.
I bought two 7gpm 100 psi Delavan pumps to run in parallel, 250 ft of 5/8 inch flexzilla, Sani Lava wash gun. I also purchased 3/4 inch metering valves from softwash depot and 3/4 inch reinforced hose to plumb from buffer and chem tanks to valves and pumps.
Problem is with blend manafold:
If I turn water to 100%, no mater how high i turn the SH valve, i only get water. I will not pull any SH even at 100% wide open.
• If i turn the water down to 50% and SH to 100% i get a 50/50 mix.
• If i turn the water to 75% and SH to 100%… I get about a 25% mix.
I have swaped the valves to see if there was a problem with the SH valve but makes no difference. I thought maybe the issue was due to bulkhead feeding from bottom of 550 gallon buffer tank, so I tride a drop stick feed from top of tank. No difference…
This is a reason i always just buy blend manifolds and stuff from someone. You try to save money by doing it yourself and you always seem to have issues. Pony up the money and buy one from Midwest or something
I’m not a pro but sure seems like check valve issue. Helpful tip. Clear manifold helps diagnose future problems. Not saying that would help here but who knows.
My water and SH lines are not the same lengths. My water has probably a 4 ft drop stick and 8 ft of 3/4 hose… SH laine has about a 2 ft drop stick and 5 ft of 3/4 hose
To add to the mystery:
I set the valves as i tested, at 2%, and started washing a house with this setup for the first time (i had only used it for a couple roofs up till now). I got about halfway finished, and all of a sudden, noticed the mix smeled hot. I sprayed my fingers and yes it was definitely strong, very strong.
This thing is baffling me and has me afraid to use it now.
Can you sketch out your system , take a pic and post. You said you had 2 pumps, hard to tell from pic what is going on. You said you were running together? How are they merged together. Can you run one at a time? If so, have you checked your output on your valves to see if they’re more accurate.
It looks like in pic that you have a pump over your battery, you need to get that battery in a battery box
