I’m no concrete pourin expert, I’ve seen @gbattle have some really informative post on concrete. Maybe he could have an explanation.

They are not stains. A 14” hand trowel was probably used when finishing that side of the sidewalk. Using a hand trowel instead of using a hand float on the edge, will cause the concrete to be slightly darker after it dries.

How should I explain that to the manager … … I clean the side walks now it almost looks worst in my opinion

What kind of pressure were you using and how far did you get before you realize what was happening?

I’d explain that the concrete is in fact clean. You cant help the finishing defects

Use my sc … my washer only rated 2500 psi which is rally about 2100 at the gun

That’s what you tell the manager. Your pressure isn’t high enough to creat damage. You used less than standard pressure to clean a concrete surface . Unfortunately it exposes the concrete was in poor cosmic condition

What about muriatic acid? Would that take care of the problem ?

No no no no no . Do not use muratic acid. You will likely make it worse. Then it becomes something you did vs something that was already there. You need to remember you have a pressure washer wand not a magic wand. Do not try and fix something you didn’t break.

Yeah I wasn’t going to do it just wondering … only thing I think that would help is if you re seal the concrete might hide the imperfections

That is not staining, all the sand in the first picture on far right hand side is byproduct of cream removal.

Your awesome!

You explain it by telling him what you learned on here. If you removed the cream it would be the majority of the surface.

Part of why I hate cleaning concrete…up here people will pour concrete when it’s below freezing. They add sodium chloride (I believe)… end product is garbage. Go to clean it and there’s marks and imperfections everywhere.

Blame usually gets passed on to you until your able to identify and set expectations before the job starts.

I do more concrete than anything else. It’s not bad but you have to set expectations up front. I’ve been doing more residential driveways and sidewalks than houses. I always pretreat and post treat even on commercial. I did a movie theater last week with a similar situation as this and the post treatment helped. I guess it bleached the darker spots. The main reason though is down here there are crepe myrtles everywhere

I don’t ever pre treat commercial… water and dirt can go down the drain but not SH.

Post treat is fine because it’s soaking into the concrete and not going into the drain.

What are you using for reclaim?

Reclaims an area I know zero about and always wondered what commercial flatwork guys do (different methods)

I pretreat if it’s a job where the water doesn’t leave the property. I should have clarified. They don’t really enforce reclaim here. However, I’m looking into steel eagle fury. Just because it’s not enforced doesn’t mean you shouldn’t do it. Ive just got to figure out how to get everything to fit on my trailer.

Here you go Justin. Think I posted some of this info before.
