Need help with my f-350 front brakes

As a diesel mechanic for years, I know enough to not run them  But I got an extra 2007 (5.4) f350 4WD, four door service bed if you come to NC to get it. With or without equipment on it

if that 5.4 is the triton, do you warranty the spark plugs for life?

Nothing last for life. Ford had problems with the 2valve from 97 to 03 blowing out. I’ve had a ton of those and it’s a simple fix by regarding with aftermarket heads. This is a 2007. Ford had some problems with them snapping off when changing them if you used a regular spark plug wrench.

Yeah i’ve had the pleasure of changing plugs on 5.4s. We made sure to keep that 5.4 spark plug removal tool on hand. This is what i want

Back in the 90’s, before we had the ability to take pics of everything I went thru about 15 Ford trucks. I had a couple of 7.3’s cause that was the thing to have but my favorite was a 1989 F150 king can lariet edition with the 302, 5speed, captain seats, walnut trim. I sold it after a year but bought it back a couple years later and kept it until it was stolen and wrecked. 5.4 is the most durable engine Ford had ever made, but I’m a 302 guy to the core. I’ve had some mustangs and a cobra with the 4.6 but they never grew on me.

the good ol days. When you didn’t need a friggin computer to do the most basic maintenance.

I thought it was over for Ford when they went to fuel injection lol

I got one waiting on me in Oklahoma. Crew cab, short bed, 4x4, one owner, almost half a million miles and NOT maintained like it should’ve been. Still runs lol

I’ve always loved this body style the most. At the town department I work for we’ve got a ‘97 (I believe) F-Superduty with the 7.3 with just the regular cab and currently a stake body on it. It was a bucket truck, but a few years ago we took that off. Just about to hit 25k original miles on it. They tried to send it to auction last year and we all raised a big fuss until they decided to let us keep it. Love the sound of that truck.

What ended up being the problem with your brakes?

I’ll never know. I worked on it for days and it went to one shop and 2 dealerships and everyone said everything was ok. They don’t smoke or over heat anymore but at slowing down at like 5mph and under it squeaks like the hardware is rubbing but i’ve checked everything and there is excessive brake dust that tells me they’re still not fully releasing.

Who knows, but its good enough for now until i find my pre-emission diesel that i like and this will be getting traded in

Thanks for the update. Hope you find the truck you’re looking for soon. Ive had issues with my brakes before. I replaced the pads and discs and then i had to replace the calipers because one was dragging and overheated and siezed up. It was kinda scarey. Once it cooled it released and the new calipers solved the problem
