Also Iā€™m not sure how your hoses and guns are set up but generally you lead with male qc fittings.

You sure thatā€™s a 390? Judging from the gas tank, air box and muffler it doesnā€™t look like it.

Any guesses as to what it is? Looking at the picture that engine looks brand new and especially compared to the pump and frame. It canā€™t be original.

Heā€™ll have to search the serial or model number to verify.

Most have a white or black sticker on the fan shroud that the pull rope is mounted to. Gives the model number and emissions year ( not necessarily the year model ).

Thanks - Iā€™m not very familiar with the engine but I wanted to follow up and get some of your expertise.

Hereā€™s a few pictures of what I found indicating it is, also another angle of the muffler and air box. Seems to be a 390 but I donā€™t know why it is different. Also, looks like itā€™s missing the air filter - should have checked for thatā€¦

@marinegrunt I thought the same thing at first, engine looked like it had been replaced. On closer inspection it just looks like there is mud on the pump and frame making it look older.

P.S: Yes, itā€™s in my house - supposed to drop below 0 tonight and the previous owner ran water through it today when he was showing it to me.

Well itā€™s definitely a GX390 - but itā€™s definitely different than my three :sunglasses:

Yours isnā€™t for the Australian market, so that explains it for me.

They are different in appearance for sureā€¦

Took a look at the Honda Canada site vs the Australian site - their pictures show the same differences. I wonder what the reason is for the difference isā€¦

Anyway - I saw this filter(?) attached to the inlet. I donā€™t think Iā€™ve seen one on someoneā€™s set up on here. Does anyone have experience with these - should I use something different?

All 3 of mine and all that Iā€™ve seen have the larger air box and muffler, here the 160, 190, 200 270 etc have that style, and that tank. Crazy how one engine can be different in each country, and COMPLETELY different in CALIFORNIA! No wonder they cost so much!

Iā€™d throw that filter as far as I possibly could. Get a nice inline mesh filter.
