@Innocentbystander or anyone else who may know:
Some guys on my crew and I are planning to go hog hunting, but we don’t have dogs and we don’t want to use a guide. I’m in Western NC, but we want to hunt down East. I’ve heard Croatan is a good place, but I’d like to find somewhere a bit closer to home. Does anybody know of a good place to check out?

I’ve hunted there for deer, but never hogs. I get my bacon at the Piggly Wiggly but I know you can hunt them there
I spent a lot of time in the crow when I was in the Corps, never realized there was that great a hog population. If it’s anything like hunting bears at the coast, private land is about the only way to go. Especially if you aren’t hunting over dogs. Actually just got back in from doing some scouting on the parkway.
Also my assistant chief has some land in cheraw that is ate up with hogs. Might could see if he wanted to “guide” some brothers. (probably a long shot, im still waiting on my invite). But you could look into some public land just across the line.
