My new SH has no smell

I get my drum refilled with SH this morning (hour away) get to my job mixup 5gallons and I notice the SH has NO smell at all, its yellow dip my fingers in foams a bit not real slippery. I’m getting concerned call the vendor he says its a week old its fine but cant tell me why it has no smell. I used it didn’t seem strong had to wash the house twice. Anyone hear of this or know what’s the deal is. Thanks

Did it feel warm on your finger? If not then your chem guy owes you a fresh drum

No smell…gotta be COVID-19. I’d get tested. J/K. I have no real useful input on this one.

Covid!

No joking covid is a maybe. I had it for a week with minor symptoms, then after that week I went to clean a house and thought my sprayer wasn’t working, couldn’t smell the bleach. Turns out after a week and once I felt 100% my smell and taste completely turned off over night. My smell is back but still very weak and can’t smell bleach while cleaning a house.

I had it back in Jan about killed me dat crap ain’t no joke. I have been smelling bleach all summer no problem though. Had pizza tonight smelled great
Yeah felt warm and foamed on my hand. May need to test and change my DS injector.

Chlorine strength test

Times are tough wouldn’t surprise me if there selling heavily diluted chemicals to meet demand. 1% has a smell without surfactant, 12.5 should be melting your nostrils.

Had it along with 14 of it friends all boating together on the 4th. All adults ended up with it but not a single one of our kids (all 6-12 years old). I was really mild other than losing smell and taste. Taste came back in about 4 days, smell is maybe 50% still 3 months later

Damn covid, my wife and I had it back on July 1st…I recovered fully other than I never got my smell back…weird right…I cant even smell SH
My Wife hasnt recovered yet, their saying she is a longhauler…she just lost her job on Friday because her FMLA ran out so they terminated her…shes bummed out…but theirs not much she can do about it shes just happy shes able to stay at home with the kids but some days she can barley function at all.

I’d love to know what all is in a bottle of pool shock. It has to be more than just SH and water.

From a company standpoint, why waste money adding anything else? Chems are expensive! Even if they were adding some kind of top-secret stabilizing agent, I can guarantee you they’d plaster that all over the side

@CaCO3Girl could probably tell us.

I do believe they add some Sodium Hydroxide to help boost/stabilize the SH.

This is what I put in my pool. It definitely has a smell to it .

Vertex sds

Interesting, thanks. 7% salt?

SH is made out of saltwater so might have something to do with that.
