My idea for a wireless soap valve

I’m considering buying a solenoid valve which will be attached to a POE plc controller. I’ll have wireless setup on my trailer so then i can connect my iphone to the wireless and use the plc webpage to turn the solenoid on/off. I have everything needed already except fir the $40 valve.

A $40 dollar experiment? Sounds like fun. Let us know how it turns out

I went ahead and ordered this for my injector bypass tonight. I had just enough rewards credit on my account that I got it for ‘free’:

You must have gotten the last one…it says “currently unavailable”…Side Point: Gotta love those Chinese to English translations! (I just bought a cheap-o Chinese Lightbar for our other vehicle, and I HAD to read the descriptions aloud to my wife…sooo entertaining!)

I’d be hesitant to use a metal valve for SH.

I think this $40 switch and controller combo would do the trick:

Plus it’s bluetooth so any phone can connect to it.

I’m going to do some more research myself to see if I can figure this out for my own use.

Bluetooth typically only has a range of ~30ft. Not too useful if you’re trying to save yourself from walking back to a trailer on the other side of a building.

Generally, I don’t mind the walk back to the trailer, as it gives the detergent more dwell time. But if I’m on a roof cleaning an area inaccessible from the ground, I don’t want to be climbing up and down the ladder more than necessary.

Without wifi how do you control you controller?

Well, the one I bought came with a cool radio remote good for 200+ feet

Whoops, looks like I did :smirk:

I’ll be setting wifi up on the trailer. I don’t need internet access, just intranet access…

Alex, nopee, I didn’t purchase one off your link.

And the reason being I’m doing the wifi setup with the PLC is for the distance I can activate the PLC. Wayyyyyy better than Bluetooth!

I could actually activate it from miles away if that’s what I wanted…

Sorry, I thought his question was directed at me. Apologies for the thread hijacking

Little late to the party (just saw this post in my forum digest email) but I just whipped up my own remote valve a few weeks ago. Had posted it on the FB page. I considered going the rout of making my own network but I was really concerned about using the phone as a remote. I could just see something bad happening. I’ll post the link to my video post on FB here since it won’t let me upload it. Log into Facebook | Facebook

Link won’t work for me. I’m curious to see what you did.

I’ve been thinking about what would make for a really cool remote system:

2 button remote:

  • First button is for rinse. This would turn a three way valve on the soap tube, that would feed clean water from your tank to rinse out the injector.

    • Then, after a delay of maybe 10 or 15 seconds, the controller would open the ball valve on your injector bypass.
  • Second button is for soap. It would open the soap valve and close the high pressure bypass simultaneously.

Atlas,
That’s easily done with the setup I’m talking about.

Uncle, I can certainly see ruining the phone may be a concern for some. It isn’t for me though.

Oh I guess you’d have to be in the group. I’m sure I could figure out how to post the video on here but I’m on mobile right now. Shoot me an email Adrian@texasproclean.com and I’d be happy to talk about ideas.
