My High pressure pump died today

But I don’t want to wash for another 10 years or so…lol

I’ve been saying the same thing for 24 years.

I’ve yet to find a job that you can dictate your own hours and make as much money as washing houses makes, save for dealing drugs. It can be a grind but if it was easy then everyone would do it.

Just to make sure you’re aware; direct drive pumps rely on the water supply to keep them cool. The tiny amount of water they recirculate through the unloader when you’re off the trigger will get hot & toast your seals if you wait too long. I try to keep ‘off trigger’ time limited to 45 seconds & that seems to be working well. Also, I don’t pull the rope until the air is purged from all hoses.

I didn’t know about the unloader valve and heat. I felt like I was pretty careful anyhow as I didn’t wanna burn up my pump because there’s no clutch. I have little doubt that it’s something I did though. I’ve been fixing lawnmowers and the like since I could hold a wrench but to tell you the truth I have no clue how the high pressure pumps work. I’ll look into that while I install my new one thank ya.

Me neither.

But what are the chances we are?

I know you’re starting out but get a good pump. Don’t waste your time with “specials” and “deals” just get it over and done with. It won’t be your last.

Very good advice. I’m just gonna buy a bigger washer now. 5.5 to start and I’ll upgrade to a 7/8gpm in a month or two. Gotta get outta the kiddie pool sometime

I’ll give you $100 towards getting yourself a 5 gpm or higher pump.

I’m totally about to make the splurge. 6.8 gpm puts out 70% more flow than 4 gpm. That’s a 70% boost in efficiency. I’m just as stoked about the ZK1 unloader as anything. The Dirty Harry recoil has got to go.
