My first two jobs. Thoughts and observations. Pics included

$183 is pricey? I’m not even going to talk about what I spend on poles :grimacing:

I’m sure it’s probably not in the grand scheme of things but since I’m still in the hole 8 grand in startup capital any little bit counts :joy:

Still trying to hone my marketing skills. Everyone balks at the price of a house wash, roof wash, driveway combo so far saying it’s too expensive and they can do it cheaper themselves.

…no s__t Sherlock. Waters wet, and making your own food will be cheaper than a restaurant.

So far have gotten zero calls from my truck magnets and every lead so far (5) has been through Facebook ads. Will be doing newspaper stuff soon to compare.

I am sick of getting only a few uses out of poles before they bend out of shape. I’m talking about the expensive ones too. I threw out 3 of them in a month (hanging Christmas lights on trees). Racer the one you showed can actually take some pressure? I mean 30 ft minimum poles i have trouble with. The smaller ones are ok.

Dallsheep I have no doubt you will succeed with this attitude.

I think a big part of the problem with the sales/marketing side of things may be in choosing the right neighborhood.

I don’t use it a lot, but have had for 3 years. 90% of the time used for knocking down nests. I try not to use for more than 10 min/month, lol

Got one of those, a cheap one that never woukd collapse after 1 use, and a few of the Tucker 30’s. The darn things are ridiculously expensive…

Signs may be your best bet for this point in your journey (not that you should get away from any of those things)…can choose your locations wisely, and see where they work best. Google will probably be your long term success. You need to mainly get comfortable with those price objections that inevitably come with softwashing…which it sounds like you’re getting very used to at the moment.

I have two of them, one for pressure washing and other for water fed pole system….never had any problems out of them. They are expensive but lightweight for as high as they go.

Door hangers with instant quotes for the house and driveway on them. 99% of calls turn into jobs.

I guess I am. So far it doesnt seem to be price objections so much as pawning it off on their significant other. “ill talk to my husband and well get back to you” kind of stuff.

I know that my price is in line with competitors. It was actually really nice because i got a call today from someone who said they saw my number on my truck and she specifically memorized it to call me. Apparently whoever she uses to wash her house was booked through September already…so i have that to hopefully look forward to as i continue my journey.

Is there a way to get over that kind of price objection? …without sounding too needy?

Educating the client is always #1. Highlighting the value in the service you provide, and why it’s the best option for their property. Follow-up is also key. You don’t want to harass people into buying, but people generally need a little gentle reminding to induce movement. I think that is more relevant to companies with dedicated sales folks, but if you’re not fully booked as a startup, then you have the time to do that as well. Once you don’t have that time, then you have to decide whether you’re happy being booked, or if you want to get into a growth perspective…

I would love to see what your door hangers look like as well!

What’s on the other side?
