Ok so I have finally started getting some experience before I look to charge customers. I washed my neighbours driveway.
How did it go well I think the results were decent to a level I’d be happy to pay someone for the job. It was about 40sqm job and it took me 3 hours.
I did the job on a 40 degree day and ran into a few problems that slowed me down other than just my skill, my chlorine mix spray bottle decided it will not work anymore,the pressure washer was over heating being in direct sun. Also I had a bad leak somewhere in my pump which I tightened the nut but that’s a temporary band aid. Also had to go home and help the mrs with the kids for a moment.
Anyway I’m buggered. I learned a lot and it cost me nothing so that a win. I know a few things to buy to make my job easier straight away.
No bubble to burst mate I’m just out here having a go and learning. Good to get a tip I tried both left to right and up and down. I guess I got lazy on the incline doing up and down as it was easier to manage the hose.
As for the spray bottle it was just a 5L garden spray pump pressure bottle that I had laying around the house for a few years that I have used for pesticide and weeds but I am looking at going this sprayer, what do you think of this for a starting sprayer?
Avoid backpack sprayers….if and when it develops a leak, your backside will get burned up. Don’t be too hard on yourself….your first cleaning, right. Practice and better equipment will help tremendously. Much success!
Forget the spray bottle. You need a ds injector. I bet there is one built into your pump outlet. Also the overheating part. You need to stay on the trigger almost all the time. If youre not pushing water through that pump constantly than it will over heat. Lastly about the stripping or possibly etching. Im wondering if the tips in your sc are 0 degree tips putting out WAY to aggressive pressure to make up for lack of horsepower. 10 hp is about minimum for using sc. Keep trying out there and reading here
You can make your own battery operated sprayer in a box. I put this together four years ago and use it to transfer SH, spray sealant on concrete and until I got my trailer mounted 12v was using it to post treat driveways like you did.
@Kentucky1234
Thanks for the advice I’ll steer clear of them then. That’s the last thing I need I think.
@SWFLWasher
Yea it does have one built in the pump I think I’ll need to look into that more for sure. I stopped a few times for different reasons I should have switched it off. From memory the rep that sold me the sc said the tips were 20 I’ll have to check on that. Thanks mate I won’t be giving up.
@dcbrock
I like the idea of making a 12v sprayer your design looks cool I think I could copy something similar to run off my 18v Dewalt batteries.
@Ikii
That looks good especially with the caddy. Not sure they would ship to Australia.
